MS Technologies™ Announces Plans for Commercial Launch of Enlist E3™ Soybeans
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 28, 2019
West Point, IA— MS Technologies™ is pleased to announce plans for commercial launch of Enlist E3™ soybeans. Enlist E3 was developed in collaboration by MS Technologies and Dow AgroSciences — now Corteva Agriscience™— and is the first-ever soybean trait package offering triple-stacked herbicide tolerance. Enlist E3™ soybeans received import authorization from China earlier this month.
“This is a significant milestone for soybean growers across the United States,” notes Joseph Merschman, president of MS Technologies. “Enlist E3 is yet another outstanding tool in the Enlist™ Weed Control System portfolio and offers growers the ability to control weeds with three unique modes of action. Now, with recent import approval from China, we’re one step away from full-scale launch.”
Once all regulatory approvals have been received, Enlist E3™ soybeans will be offered in the United States and in Brazil and Canada. Growers can expect commercial sales of the soybeans to begin in 2019, with a much broader, full-scale launch in 2020.
The Enlist E3 soybean event includes three herbicide tolerant genes stacked together as part of a single genetic event in the soybean genome. The genetics allow the soybeans to confer tolerance to new 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides. This offers growers direct control over tough broadleaf weeds and grasses.
Enlist E3sets a new standard for yield performance and weed control in soybeans. The system will be broadly licensed so that growers across the country can benefit from the choice and flexibility the system offers.
